Monticello fundraising collection, 1925-1931.

The collection consists of miscellaneous items from Newark, N.J., pertaining to the home of Thomas Jefferson including a form letter, 1925 June 16, from Charles Lee Reynolds, pastor of Park Presbyterian Church, urging contributions towards the purchase of Monticello. There are also two form letters to be used by candidates for the Patriotic Pilgrimage to France, a fundraising project of the Thomas Jefferson Centennial Elections of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation. One of the letters has been filled out by a candidate nominated by the Catholic Young Women's Club of Newark. With these is a handwritten list of subscriptions turned in to the Treasurer, possibly raised by the CYWC candidate above. With these are three clippings including one about the Pilgrimage race.
